Minutes of the A G M Parish Council meeting held on
Monday 14 May 2018 in the Clock Tower
At 7.30pm
Present at the meeting
Chairman Cllr. Mrs. P. Woodman MBE, Cllrs M. Coulson, D. Knott, S. Dinsdale, F. Harston & the Clerk.
Cllr. Mrs Woodman welcomed everyone to the meeting and the clerk took control of the meeting as asked for proposals for chairman. Cllr. M. Coulson proposed Cllr P. Woodman for chairman this was seconded by Cllr. S. Dinsdale. The clerk then called for proposals for vice chairman. Cllr F. Harston proposed Cllr. M. Coulson and this was seconded by Cllr. S. Dinsdale.
1 Public Time
No public were present.
2 Police Time
The police were not present.
3 Apologies for Absence
There were apologies from Cllr S. Howe.
4 Declaration of Interests
Cllr. Mrs Woodman declared an interest in items relating to the clerk.
5 Minutes of the Last Meeting
These were read, agreed and duly signed.
6 LCC Report & NKDC Report
Cllr Mrs Woodman read the NKDC report. The Proteins animal rendering project is out for consultation. The PC are objecting to it.
SKDC are having a pilot scheme to recycle food waste. This may be adopted by NKDC if it proves successful.
All local attractions and information are available online.
8 FINANCES
The clerk gave the financial report.
The church railings have been repaired the cost of which being £252.00. The church warden has written asking for a donation. It was decided that the pc would pay the full amount.
Eon has sent a bill which is exceptionally high so the clerk will investigate.
9 CLOCK TOWER
The clock tower exhibition is open in June. It was decided to have a fundraiser in aid of LIVES. A cake stall, Bric a Brac, plants, refreshments, etc.
The noticeboard needs some attention.
10 HIGHWAYS
The pot holes are slowly being repaired.
Manhole covers on Royal Oak Lane and Bridge Road continue to be loose.
Bollards on Butts Lane need attention.
The Church finger post is still in the process of being sorted out.
Speeding on Dovecote Lane continues to be a problem. The closure of one end is to be discussed with Cllr Overton.
A dog bin is to be put at the Harmston end of Aubourn. This is to be re located from Dovecote lane. A sticker for the remaining litter bin is to be purchased to inform the public that dog waste is welcome in the bin.
The storm drain on Royal Oak Lane needs attention due to flooding.
There is a faulty streetlight on Bridge road.
Cllr Harston enquired as to why council tax is the same in Aubourn as it is in Haddington despite there being no footpaths or amenities.

The pc unanimously object to this variation.
