Minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on
Monday 2 July 2018 in the Clock Tower
At 7.30pm
Present at the meeting
Chairman Cllr. Mrs. P. Woodman MBE, Cllrs M. Coulson, D. Knott & the Clerk.
Cllr. Mrs Woodman welcomed everyone to the meeting
1 Public Time
No public were present.
2 Police Time
The police were not present.
3 Apologies for Absence
There were apologies from Cllr S. Howe and Cllr F. Harston.
4 Declaration of Interests
Cllr. Mrs Woodman declared an interest in items relating to the clerk.
5 Minutes of the Last Meeting & Matters arising
These were read, agreed and duly signed.
The clerk reported that we are still waiting for the results from Eon who have agreed to run a check of the electricity used for the period of the high usage.
6 LCC Report & NKDC Report
Cllr Mrs Woodman reported the election of two new District Councillors following the recent by-elections in Nth Hykeham Mill Ward and Skellingthorpe. All other information is available on the website.
7 FINANCES
The clerk gave the financial report which is appended to these minutes.
It was agreed that a new vacuum cleaner and a teapot can be purchased for the clock tower.
8 CLOCK TOWER
The fundraiser in aid of LIVES raised £71.84 Thanks to Cllr Coulson for organising this.
The clock tower and the dovecote will be open on 15-16 September for the Lincolnshire heritage weekend. There is to be publicity done via social media, radio, local papers.
A wytch elm in the churchyard was inspected as a complaint had been received that it was impeding the footpath. The parish council decided to pay for its removal and to ask Alistair Ogg for a quote.
9 HIGHWAYS
The Clerk will email highways to ask for the manhole cover on Royal Oak Lane to be inspected as the noise made by empty lorries is impacting on the resident’s lives.
The Clerk is still waiting for Hill Holt Wood to quote for clearing the pond in Haddington.
The clerk is to ask Hustlers to cut the verge and hedges in their field on Bassingham Road.
The Clerk is to write to Christopher Nevile and request that hedges around the Sibsey field are cut back to enable safe use of footpaths and provide clear vision at junctions.
The clerk is to invite Cllr Davies executive member for highways on LCC to have a walk round the villages.
The Clerk is to ask the Road Safety Partnership to perform a speed count and also decrease the speed limit from 40 mph to 30 mph in both villages.
10 CHARITY NOMINATIONS
Cllr Coulson nominated Cllr Woodman and Cllr Knott to remain as the charity representatives.
