AUBOURN AND HADDINGTON PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the Parish Council meeting (AGM) held on
Tuesday 9th May 2017 in Aubourn Clock Tower
At 7.30pm (following the Annual Parish Meeting)
Present at the meeting
Chairman Cllr. Mrs. P. Woodman MBE, Cllrs M. Coulson, D. Knott, F. Harston, S. Dinsdale, Sue Howe & the Clerk.
Cllr. Mrs Woodman welcomed everyone to the meeting.
1 Nominations
Cllr. Mrs Woodman then stood down from the table and the clerk called for nominations for the position of chairman. Cllr Coulson proposed Cllr Mrs Woodman and it as seconded by Cllr Dinsdale.
The clerk then called for nominations for vice chairman. Cllr Dinsdale proposed Cllr Coulson and this was seconded by Cllr Knott.
Cllr Mrs Woodman then called for nominations for the Neville Summers charity. Cllr Coulson proposed Cllr Mrs Woodman and Cllr Knott and Cllr Dinsdale seconded this.
2 Police Time
There has been no reported crime.
3 Public Time
No members of the Public were present.
4 Apologies for Absence
There were no apologies.
5 Declaration of Interests
Cllr. Mrs Woodman declared an interest in items relating to the clerk.
6 Minutes of the Last Meeting
These were read, agreed and duly signed.
7 Matters Arising
Cllr Coulson confirmed he had updated the website.
8 NKDC Report
A report from Cllr. Sue Howe was read out stating that all local attractions and information are available online.
9 FINANCES
9.A1 The Clerk read out the Annual Governance Statement and this was completed and signed.
9.A2 The clerk read out the Accounting Statements and this was completed and signed.
The clerk gave the financial report.
The clerk is to amend the standing order of her salary to £305.20
10 Clock Tower
It was decided that more publicity should be given to the open Sundays. The clerk is to put signs in village shops.
WEBSITE
Cllr Coulson has updated the website.
HIGHWAYS
The road is eroding on Suttons corner.
Manhole covers on Royal Oak Lane and Bridge Road continue to be loose.
The clerk is to contact Road safety partnership for some more speed limit signs and also request a traffic count.
The church finger post sign is still missing.
Phone Box
The Clerk is to inquire to LALC for a contract for the purchase and subsequent maintenance of the phone box.
INDIVIDUAL CLLRS REPORT
Cllr Knott reported that the Sibsey Wood footpath at the village end needs cutting back.
Cllr Harston‐ reported that there is a lot of litter in Haddington and would request a speed gun on Dovecote Lane. Cllr Harston also documented a telephone complaint from a Bassingham resident complaining about the footpaths by the river. There is a lot of dog fouling down Mill Lane. The post box needs repainting in Haddington.
