AUBOURN AND HADDINGTON PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on
Monday 5th June 2017 in Aubourn Clock Tower
At 7.30pm
Prior to the meeting the Cllrs had a site meeting to look at all the assets in both villages.
Present at the meeting
Chairman Cllr. Mrs. P. Woodman MBE, Cllrs M. Coulson, D. Knott, F. Harston, S. Dinsdale, Cllr Mrs M. Overton & the Clerk.
Cllr. Mrs Woodman welcomed everyone to the meeting.
1 Police Time
The clerk read out the emailed report from PCSO Lingard.
2 Public Time
No members of the Public were present.
3 Apologies for Absence
Cllr Mrs S. Howe sent apologies.
4 Declaration of Interests
Cllr. Mrs Woodman declared an interest in items relating to the clerk.
5 Minutes of the Last Meeting
These were read, agreed and duly signed.
6 Matters Arising
Cllr Knott reported that the footpath into the Sibsey had been cut back and cleared.
7 LCC Report
The report was read out by Cllr Mrs Overton. The full report is available to read on the website.
8 NKDC Report
A report from Cllr. Mrs Woodman was read out stating that NKDC leader Cllr Mrs Brighton OBE has resigned from NKDC due to ill health. The new leader is Cllr Richard Wright and his deputy leader is Cllr S. Howe. All local attractions and information are available online.
9 FINANCES
The clerk gave the financial report.

A letter of thanks is to be sent to Mr Kullich regarding the audit.
The assets register was reviewed and the street furniture was assessed during the site meeting.
Bus shelter‐ Aubourn and Haddington ‐ The white facia needs re‐painting.
Water pumps x 4 in A & H – They need rubbing down and re–painting.
The clerk will place an advert for a volunteer in the Witham Staple.
Seats x 4 in Aubourn, they are in a reasonable condition.
Noticeboards x 3 – A & H, Aubourns 2 are ok and Haddington’s could do with replacing. The clerk will ask HHW for a quote.
10 Clock Tower
It was decided that Cllrs Coulson and Dinsdale will man the open Sunday. Cllr Coulson will make publicity signs and posters for the open Sundays.
11 HIGHWAYS
The road is eroding on Sutton’s corner.
Manhole covers on Royal Oak Lane and Bridge Road continue to be loose.
The clerk contacted the Road safety partnership for some more speed limit signs and also request a traffic count but has not received a reply.
The church finger post sign is still missing.
Potholes on Church Road and bollards on Butts lane have been reported.
Overhanging tress are becoming a hazard. The clerk will email all land owners to request attention for the particular trees.
The Royal Mail post boxes need re painting, the clerk will look into this.
12 Phone Box
The Clerk is to inquire to LALC for a contract for the purchase and subsequent maintenance of the phone box.
13 AOB
The Playground committee has announced it will dissolve on 31 August.
14 Next Meeting
Monday 3rd July 2017.
