Minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on
Monday 7th September 2015 in Aubourn Clock Tower
At 7.30pm
Present at the meeting
Chairman Mrs. P. Woodman MBE, Cllrs M. Coulson, D. Knott, S.
Dinsdale & F. Harston, Cllr Mrs. S. Howe, Cllr. R. Philips, PCSO & the
Clerk.
Cllr. Mrs Woodman welcomed everyone to the meeting.
PCSO reported that there had been a burglary in Haddington. The speed
gun had been in operation on Harmston Road and one person had been
spoken to.
Apologies for Absence
None.
Declaration of Interests
Cllr. Mrs Woodman declared an interest in items relating to the clerk and
finances.
Minutes of the Last Meeting and Matters Arising
These were read and duly signed.
NKDC Report
Cllr Mrs Howe gave the report.
Nominations for the Community Champions Award are being collected.
The Spires and Steeples run is taking place in October starting at Lincoln
Cathedral and finishing at St Denys in Sleaford. Housing benefit is going to
change how it is to be paid. Terry O’Toole Theatre has a new season of
performances, details can be found online. The cluster meeting will take
place on 21st September.
Cllr. Mrs. Woodman reported on the Local Plan. There will be consultation
drop in sessions planned in October. Bassingham will host on 12th October
at the Hammond Hall from 3.15 – 7.30.
Highways Matters
The SID sign has been reported as faulty. The Clerk has been in touch with
the manufactures with regards a quote for repair. The SID was duly sent
off and we await further news. There has been two wooden planters
dumped in the verge on Chapel Lane, Cllr Harston has kindly offered to
take them to the tip. The clerk is to ask both Neville’s and Hustlers to cut
back the hedges in the villages where they are impeding progress on the
pavement.
The letter from Highways was read out. It reported on the areas which
were identified at the site meeting.
Cllr Coulson reported that a manhole cover was loose on Bridge Road.
PLANNING
Pond Cottage have created an opening onto the highway while building
works are carried out. This is to be questioned.
CLOCK TOWER
The Windows have been boarded up whilst the new protective frames are
being made. These should be in place for the Heritage Weekend.
The new light in the clock room has been installed. A gas cylinder is to be
replaced by Cllr Coulson.
The Heritage weekend is 12 & 13th September. Refreshments are to be
offered. Chris Woodcock is to ring the bells and offer tuition on the
Sunday.
The clerk is to find out if the resident who delivered the poppies last year is
willing to do the same this year. The Parish Council decided to give a
donation to the British Legion.
FINANCES
The audit was returned. There was a charge this year as the total income
and expenditure had exceeded £10,000.
