AUBOURN AND HADDINGTON PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on
Monday 5th October 2015 in Aubourn Clock Tower
At 7.30pm
Present at the meeting
Chairman Mrs. P. Woodman MBE, Cllrs M. Coulson, D. Knott & F. Harston, Cllr Mrs. S. Howe & the Clerk.
Cllr. Mrs Woodman welcomed everyone to the meeting.
Apologies for Absence
None.
Declaration of Interests
Cllr. Mrs Woodman declared an interest in items relating to the clerk and finances.
Minutes of the Last Meeting and Matters Arising
These were read and duly signed.
Cllr Harston confirmed he took the wooden planters to the tip.
The Heritage weekend was well attended with over 40 visitors attending.
The bell ringing tuition which was held on the Saturday and Sunday of the Heritage weekend was enjoyed by many and interest was shown for further tuition to be given by Chris Woodcock.
NKDC Report
Cllr Mrs Howe gave the report.
There is to be a change in the way Housing Benefit is to be paid, it will
Now be paid directly to the tenant.
More than 300 war veterans attended the opening of the Bomber Command Memorial Spire in Cannick.
The next Cluster meeting will be held in November at Bassingham.
Cllr. Mrs. Woodman reported on the Local Plan. There will be consultation drop in sessions planned in October. Bassingham will host on 12th October at the Hammond Hall from 3.15 – 7.30.
Highways Matters
The SID sign has had a quote by the manufacturers which would work out each parish paying £46. Bassingham PC has kindly agreed to pay the bill in the first instance with the other, smaller parishes reimbursing Bassingham pc. The work on Aubourn Bridge has commenced. This will be completed in approximately 10 weeks.
There is to be a new information noticeboard for the Dovecote, situated in the
parking area on Dovecote Lane.
PLANNING
None.
CLOCK TOWER
The new protective frames are in place on the windows.
The gas cylinder has been replaced by Cllr Coulson.
The Clock Tower is to be hired out for a party on 31st October.
