Councillor Mrs Green’s (NKDC) newsletter had been previously circulated.  She discussed the latest news regarding the Local Plan.

Clerk’s Report

The Clerk advised the Councillors about the rise in charges for the Clock Tower electricity account.  The standing charge has risen from 27.9p to £1.00 per day and the KW/H has risen from 21.4p to £1.14. The street lighting rise in charges has not been received at this time.  News of Government aid has not been released at the time of writing.  Clerk to seek advice from NKDC regarding any possible assistance. 

The Clerk asked the Councillors to consider adopting new financial standing orders.  The Councillors agreed to look at the Clerks' proposals which will be circulated in full for all to view with the consideration of adopting where applicable.

Highways 

The Clerk has invited a member of the Highways team to attend a meeting but has received no response so far.

Street lighting 

The Clerk has received an up to date report from Eon.  The Counillors agreed to get a quote to replace/repair all lights on the schedule classified as status 3 which is average and 4 which is poor.

Review of Ongoing Actions 

 

The new bench has been ordered and paid for with delivery expected at the beginning of November.  Clerk to get prices for plaque.  Wording to be agreed. 

The Councillors agreed to order the paint for the phone box from Trade Paints which is £45.99 for 2.5 litres.   

The Councillors agreed to order 6 x 30mph and 6 x 40mph passive speed signs at a charge of £10 per sign.   

The notice board for the Clock Tower has been refurbished by Cllr Mosedale and will be reinstated.

Chairman’s Report 

Cllr Mosedale advised that we would be receiving a Christmas tree from Bassingham Ball Committee this year, but this was likely to be the last year. 

Cllr Mosedale would like to get the Parishioners involved with the dressing and lighting of the tree and have a Carols around the tree event. Clerk to put notice in Herald/Staple once a date has been agreed. 

Cllr Mosedale commented about the fencing at Neville’s paddock being in need of repair.

Cllr Mrs Woodman discussed the upcoming Heritage Open Day event and Cllr Mosedale suggested forming a working party.  Cllr Mrs Woodman to organise.
